Welcome back to the TSL QB Power Rankings!
We didn’t have a lot of movement in the Power Rankings the last couple of weeks… but you’ll see a LOT of it this time around. Who’s on the rise, who’s on the decline? Let’s find out!

Let’s talk about D1 first. Here’s a graph of every D1 team’s Points per Game, so you understand what is happening in this division:

Has there EVER been such a parity with scoring? FIVE teams are separated by just 1.4 points per game! How are you going to rank these QBs when they’re all putting up the same points?
For starters, we should mention that Eyes Downtown’s PPG rise to 38.0 when we throw out the two games that Bridget threw for them. Yes, 38.0 is still a hair below five other teams, and it feels crazy to rank the SIXTH best scorer in his division as the #1 QB in the League. But he’s also still undefeated in games he has played, which none of the other QBs above him can say, and still the reigning League champion, so the #1 spot was surprisingly easy.
After that, it’s anarchy. We had Joey Batts, Ryan Dougherty and Mike Thomas as the #2-#4 in all of our votes, but no one agreed on the order. It’s splitting hairs to talk about their points per game, since they’re virtually identical. Joey got the slight nod in the end because he’s 1-0 against the other two (having beaten Can’t Touch This and not yet played Sticky Bandits) and because the Stunts are the highest scoring team in the League. Ryan got the SMALLEST edge over Mike for the #3 spot, because their head to head scoring in the two games they played each other (which they split) was 81-77. And then Mike comes in #4. But obviously this is nitpicking, and all of these QBs are in the same tier.
What about Rhace?? He’s actually the HIGHEST scoring QB now in all of D1 and we have him ranked sixth! Yes, his team is 1-4, and that’s a lot of why he’s ranked where he is. It doesn’t seem fair to punish him for his team’s defense (which is FAR and away the worst in D1) but that’s kinda what we’re doing, right? Another argument against ranking him higher is that their offensive numbers are significantly propped up by dropping 84 points against Frodo this week (and one game should not dictate how good a team is).
We’ll back up and mention we have Buddy at #5, who is in the same tier of scoring as the other top D1 guys, but like Rhace his record isn’t nearly as good. Yes, his defense has a lot to do with this, but Freeballers have actually allowed FEWER points than Can’t Touch This’s defense, and yet they have two fewer wins to show for it.
To make a long story short, D1 is crazy, everyone is great, and you’re welcome to argue the order of any of these guys. All seven D1 QBs are in our Top Seven this week, and if you think “that probably happens all the time, you guys always favor the D1 QBs”, well, guess again. If anyone wants to do some homework and go back and find the last time the Top Seven QBs were all from D1, we’ll buy you a sandwich at the bar. This might be the first time ever.
So that’s D1. We have a D2 QB as our #8, but Jordan Lawson didn’t play this week, and Bullet Club lost their first game in his absence. His value is proven!
David Eickhoff isn’t in D2 but maybe he should have been. Grey Hair Don’t Care are just stomping the rest of D3 right now. They actually have a chance to clinch the #1 seed this week (with a little help from Practice Squad) with two weeks to go. And I’d Rather Be Golfing has been competitive the last two weeks as well.
BQI barely held off Damien Keller and D-Generation XYZ this week in an impressive win, but unfortunately our voters preferred Rhace and David so Bridget drops a couple spots despite the win. It happens!
Seth Molisani has the weird distinction of being the ONLY QB in the Top Twenty outside of Bobby McConnell to not move up or down in the Power Rankings this week. Yes, he won, and yes, Let’s Get Reccked are looking better every week. But beating a backup QB isn’t the signature win he needs to jump up in the Rankings just yet.
The System continued their difficult season with another loss and a game-stopping injury. We’re not sure what the game situation was before it was called, or if The System had a chance to come back, but either way they’re sitting at 1-5 right now and last place in D2. Do they have the talent to right the ship? Absolutely, when Joe gets hot, he gets HOT.
The next two QBs flip spots this week as Mark Dalfonso beat B head-to-head in a battle of D3 contenders. Mike’s Detailing has a winning record in their first season in D3, which is pretty impressive! B on the other hand suffered his first loss with Greater Value Tater Thots, and his fourth loss with Practice Squad.
Is Rick Recckio a better QB than Andy Clark? We’re not sure. Buffalo Vice is 1-4 in D3 and Not So Sticky is 5-0 in D4. Not So Sticky has also scored (barely) more points per game than Vice. These two are about even right now, but wins and losses do matter, so we gave a slight edge to Recckio.
Flying Balls have been “flying” under the radar a bit in D4 with a 1-1-1 record that had them pegged as a mediocre team. It’s funny how a doubleheader win completely changes the story there, and now they’re in second place in the division. Veteran Matt Glowacki is doing a great job with a new cast of receivers.
PowerPuff Girls dismantled Skeleton Crew this week, so that was an easy decision to flip Kyle and Sal in the Power Rankings. With respect to Balls Deep, I’d Rather Be Golfing and Two Tuddies, there are seven teams that we could see winning this division, and PPG and Skeleton Crew (despite losing records) are two of those contenders.

Here’s a good old fashioned “points per game, per team, per division” graph we do at least once a season. How’s your team holding up??
