Welcome back to the TSL QB Power Rankings!

Remember when we used to start off each article with some famous quote, sports related or otherwise?  Man, we’ve evolved a lot over the years, and yet some things always remain the same:

  • We are the ONLY official source of QB Power Rankings in the TSL
  • Week Four brings you the first meaningful graph of the year

So let’s get to it!  Here are the top TWENTY QBs in the League (we’re getting into a lot of D4 players by now) and our first “point differential by team by division” graph of the season (we’ll do another in Week 8 as well):

What stands out about the Action from Week Four?  7 of our top 9 QBs didn’t play this week!  That’s crazy.  No Mike Thomas, Ryan Dougherty, Garrett Beesing, Buddy Lee, Jordan Lawson or Rhace Colon this week (and Bobby McConnell still out for another week – we love you Bobby!).  No Damien Keller, no Kyle Conniff… Was this even TSL football???

Joey Batts was out there though, kicking ass and guiding his teams to two of the top six highest scoring offenses in the LEAGUE.  Why is he not higher in the Rankings again?

Bridget Masiello won again for BQI, which people keep pointing out is basically just Eyes Downtown with Bridget QBing.  We know that’s not exactly true but… when Bridget QBs for Eyes Downtown, it DOES look like basically the same team, right?

David Eickhoff blasts his way into the Top Ten this week with a convincing win over Buffalo Vice and a much closer win over Two Tuddies.  We don’t expect I’d Rather Be Golfing to win the D4 title this season, but can anyone NOT named Cunning Stunts upset Grey Hair Don’t Care in the playoffs?

The System is a combination of Jabronies and ILF, but somehow looks weaker than BOTH of those teams did.  Maybe it’s a testament to the quality of D2 this session, but things aren’t coming as easily for Joe Miano and company this session.

Let’s Get Reccked picked up their first W of the season!  Someone recently said “these guys are too talented to lose every game”… oh, that was us.  We were right!

Practice Squad is 2-2 and Greater Value Tater Thots are 3-0.  Why is B not rated higher than this?  Usually he waits until late in the season to really lock it in, but he’s hitting that extra gear early this Fall.

Mike’s Detailing is doing fine in their first session in D3, which we figured they would.  Mark’s a champion and he knows what he’s doing with a young squad.  But there’s a gap between the top couple of teams and the rest of the division, which they’ll have to figure out come playoffs if they want to be any more than a semifinal loss to the top teams.

Buffalo Vice is a victim of an unfortunate schedule this season – they took a forfeit win over Cobblestone, and had to forfeit a game against Mike’s Detailing, which means the only teams they’ve really played have been Practice Squad (lost by a point) and Grey Hair Don’t Care (lost by, uh, more than a point).  This makes it difficult to evaluate how Andy is doing so far!

Not So Sticky is undefeated and Ricky Recckio is somehow in our Top Twenty QBs, which doesn’t feel right.  But he just beat Sal Augugliaro and Skeleton Crew head to head, so he must be doing something right!

Speaking of Sal, after years of playing WR1, he looks like he’s adjusting well to the QB1 role.  No, this is not the Wanderers of old (for better or for worse) but they’re 2-2 and they actually have the best point differential per game in D4 this session.  This should be a real contender come playoffs, especially as Sal continues to develop throwing the ball.

Flying Balls are just 1-1-1 this session as they break in a new roster with new faces, but keep an eye on their veteran QB presence to steady the ship as the season goes on.  Matt Glowacki is good, and if he can gel with these receivers, the Balls might make some noise come playoffs.

Fancy Statistics Section

What do we always say?  “You're not getting any fancy statistics out of us until at LEAST Week Four, and even then we'll tell you the sample size is too small to be meaningful.”

Well, week four is here!  So here’s some “read into this if you want, but keep in mind some teams have only played three games” statistics for you!

This is the point differential of every team in the league, division by division.  Green is good (you’re winning games by a lot!) and red is bad (you’re losing games by a lot!).

What stands out in each division?

D1 is mostly dominated by “how much has each team beaten the Malones by so far”.  These guys were DOMINATING this graphic last season, remember?

D2 looks like three contenders, and three “other teams”.  Bullet Club, BQI, PWI… are you picking any other team to win the division but these three?

D3 is exactly what you would have guessed it is – Grey Hair Don’t Care and Cunning Stunts running wild, with four other teams served up for the slaughter.

D4 probably has the most real contenders right now.  None of these teams are really blowing away the competition, and even the middling teams can talk themselves into having a decent shot of a playoff run.

D5 is Victorious Secret and then everyone else.

D6 has three great teams, but are Irish Giants really as good as they look?  They have only played two games: a 3 point win over a contender, and a 50 point win over a brand new team.  They’re good, but maybe not THAT good.
